Ranger looks at you and then looks outside. She looks at you again and then outside, again.

“Seriously?”

Some alien force compels you to stand up, pick up a piece of iron rebar from a broken section of wall, and jump out of the window toward the incoming hordes of demons.

Laser blasts from the window covers your approach as you run wildly toward the horrible monsters swinging the rebar unsuccessfully at nearby foes.

Your watch begins to vibrate. A holographic projection of Ranger appears on your wrist.

“You’re an idiot!” she yells as three large spikes pierce the wall beside her. The little blue figure on the watch’s surface distorts. “I can’t go against my programming, but I know a lost cause when I see one! You’re on your own!”

The laser blasts stop and you continue to run full speed toward the nearest fissure.

A gigantic pig-like beast rises up from the ground and charges toward you. It’s spluttering fire out from its mouth as its hooves bit into the ground. You take a huge leap with the rebar in hand. One the boar’s tusks impales you.

You’re as good as dead.
