Chose your own adventure: Ranger’s Battle

You wake up feeling refreshed, but the team has disappeared. The grass below you is soft and the early morning’s sky still has pinpoints of stars. Could have it all been a dream?

You sit up and look around only to see plumes of smoke in the distance and the red sparks of open fissures. The ground below your feet has a slight pulse and you remember your journey into the underworld where hordes of demons lay in wait to reach the surface.

You spin around to see the squad running your way. They speed off, but Ranger skids to a stop beside you. She offers you a hand.

“Time to rise, shine, and save the world,” Ranger says.

She gives you some battle updates and where the team will be heading off to first.

In the night, a new signal began to emanate from somewhere in Japan, so that’s where they’re headed next. Bruiser managed to secure a high-speed jet from a not-so-friendly airfield manager nearby. They’ll be taking off in the next hour in order to track down the Mirror Team as they’ve started to call them.

She pulls out a small device from her pocket and places it into your hand. It’s a silver disc. It has a nice weight, but it’s warm and buzzing. It’s somehow comforting. You ask her what it is.

“It’s something Tech made for your watch last night,” Ranger says. “It should help give you an edge in a fight, but it’s your choice if you want to use it,” she pauses, “let’s just say if you do there won’t be much of a height difference between us anymore.”

She looks at the device and closes your hand around it. And with a wink, she speeds off into the distance following the team.

It’s not like you’re going to be able to keep up with them without an edge. You flip the disc in your hand. It’s time to make a decision.

Hell Yeah!
